Richard “Dick” J. Charles, 92, passed away at home on Saturday May 6, 2023. Richard was born on October 27, 1930, in Green Bay. The son of Sebastian and Catherine (Dernbach) Charles. Richard graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1948. After graduating, Richard honorably served his country for two years in the U.S. Navy. He married Alta Herold on August 7, 1954. They were married for 63 years until her passing on March 6, 2018. Richard worked at Paper Converting for 50 years, finishing his career as Director of Customer Service and Subsidiaries. Dick and Alta always provided an open and welcoming home to friends, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, parents and siblings, Richard was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey. He is survived by his son David, a daughter Laurine, grandchildren, David Jr and wife Molly, Gregory, Stephanie, Kristie and husband Joe; great-grandchildren Alex, James, Joseph, Henry, Vincent, Katherine, and Bennett.
